Aftercare & preparation

A little preparation and gentle aftercare go a long way. Find your treatment below for everything to do before you arrive and after you leave, so your results settle beautifully.

These are general guidelines. Your provider's personal instructions always come first. Please follow them and reach out with any questions before or after your visit.

Before

  1. 1 Consultation: Meet with your licensed provider to discuss your goals, medical history, and any concerns.
  2. 2 Avoid blood thinners: Stop aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and similar supplements one week before to minimize bruising.
  3. 3 Inform your provider: Share all medications, allergies, and existing medical conditions.
  4. 4 Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days before, hydrated skin responds better.
  5. 5 Avoid alcohol: Skip alcohol for 24 hours before to limit bruising and swelling.
  6. 6 Skip makeup: Arrive with a clean face, free of makeup and skincare products.

After

  1. 1 Don't touch the area: Avoid pressure or rubbing for at least 6 hours so the product settles into the intended muscles.
  2. 2 Stay upright: Don't lie down or do strenuous activity for the first few hours, to keep product from migrating.
  3. 3 No exercise: Skip vigorous exercise for the rest of the day.
  4. 4 Skip blood thinners: Avoid them for the next 24 hours to reduce bruising.
  5. 5 Wash gently: Cleanse lightly, don't massage the area, and pat, don't rub, dry for the first day.
  6. 6 Avoid heat: No saunas, hot tubs, or prolonged sun for at least 24 hours.
  7. 7 No facial treatments: Skip facials and massages for the first week.
  8. 8 Follow up: Keep any scheduled follow-up appointments.
  9. 9 Be patient: Results can take a few days to become noticeable.
